Novartis Eager To Invest in Sarawak’s Biodiversity

Sarawak, the largest state of Malaysia, locates on Borneo island. It is known as the land of hornbills. The jungles, mountains and wildlife of Sarawak is one of the richest biodiversity in the world. However people tend to ignore the potential of Sarawak’s biodiversity, exploiting the forest and make a huge profit out of it. This has damaged the biodiversity of Sarawak greatly, but it is still a lovely and beautiful place. I love this place more than any place in this world.
Novartis is a Swiss trasnational company and one of the 10 biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world. It is keen to invest in Sarawak’s biodiversity for biotechnology research concerning the ingredients found in plants in Sarawak’s forest. Novartis had set up a RM 500 million company in producing contact lenses in Johor Bahru. Switzerland’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Urs Stemmier, said that the talks for this possibility with relevant authorities in Kuala Lumpur had been held.
I am looking forward to this investment, maybe it’s a chance for me to work at my hometown. By the way, I think the company’s name is Novartis, not Norvatis. A lot of news website had written it wrongly.
