Any idea what body farm is?
A body farm is actually a place used for the study of forensic anthropology, where research of human’s body decomposition and relevant stages of insect development is carried out.
Bodies are exposed in a number of ways in order to study the decomposition of bodies in various conditions, i.e., bodies left in the open, get buried in different condition, left in the car trunks and etc.
The original “Body Farm” is located at Tennessee, belongs to University of Anthropology Facility. It was founded by anthropology Dr. William M. Bass in 1971.
For more information, you can visit Forensic Anthropology Center in University of Tennessee.
