The World’s Most Relaxing Room
Written by WTJ on October 21, 2008 – 10:32 am -Psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman from University of Hertfordshire designed and built ‘the world’s most relaxing room’ after reviewing the scientific research of relaxation. The room will be opened to up to 10 visitors per group from 21 – 24 October at the University’s de Havilland campus’s Health and Human Sciences Research Institute Showcase. The visitors will be lying on soft matting. Lavender-scented pillows will be provided for them to rest their heads. Glade-like green light will shower them during the fifteen minute session to calm them down. Soothing soundtrack which was specially composed by Tim Blinko will also be played while the visitors lie on the soft mat looking at the clear artificial blue sky.

Perhaps this large-scale relaxation space can be construct in prison to calm the prisoners down.

Taking Ecstasy Once, Damage Your Memory
Written by WTJ on October 9, 2008 – 9:15 pm -
Ecstasy a.k.a. MDMA or Methylenedioxymethamphetamine is a type of psychoactive drug that makes people feels more awake and alert. It also changes the perception of reality of a person. Many side effects of ecstasy have been reported, such as insomnia, kidney failure, dehydration, paranoid, hallucinations, etc. However there are still a lot of people curious of the ecstasy effect.
Professor Keith Laws and Professor Fabrizio Schifano from University of Hertfordshire will be giving a talk titled “Can taking ecstasy once damage your memory?” The talk will be given on October 21 at the university’s Health and Human Sciences Research Institute Showcase. They will talk about how consumption of ecstasy will affect short- and long-term memory loss, even if it is just once.
Perhaps people who don’t remember things are happier.
